How to choose correct pressure for cold pressing coupler ?
For cold pressing splice, except coupler, the most important is the pressure used on coupler. Normally the cold pressing machine supplier will give user a manual to show the pressure for each size rebar, but those values are only for reference, for rebar from different manufacturers, different countries, the outer diameter, including its tolerance, there may be some different, in this condition, for same size coupler, we use same pressure, it will not be ok, it may take the result that bar is pulled out or coupler crack during test as shown below:
